• A surgical tray with instruments laid out in order of use

Ứng dụng theo lĩnh vực

• software: Building a page on every request makes responses slow. Pages that are viewed often are built in advance and served at once.
• mechanical: A machine sits idle while tools are found and changed. Loading the next jobs' tools into the changer in order lets it swap them at once.
• medical: Someone in cardiac arrest needs CPR and a defibrillator's analysis within minutes. Placing automatic defibrillators in busy public places in advance puts one within reach.
• materials: Applying glue at every use is fiddly and uneven. Tape with adhesive already applied and covered by a release liner just needs peeling and pressing.
