Nguyên tắc con
- Prepare protective measures beforehand to make up for an object's low reliability
Ví dụ
- A car airbag
- Automatic backup of important data
- A reserve parachute
Ứng dụng theo lĩnh vực
- software: If the one server fails, the whole service stops. A standby copy elsewhere takes over automatically when trouble starts.
- mechanical: If a lift's ropes break, the car falls. An emergency brake that grips the rails once the car overspeeds is fitted in advance.
- electronics: Too much current burns out parts and wiring. A fuse that breaks first on overcurrent is built in beforehand.
- medical: An operation may bring heavy bleeding. Collecting and storing the patient's own blood beforehand means it can be returned when needed.
